Since 1962, MANNA Real Estate Services and its corporate predecessors have continuously served the real estate marketplace in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and the surrounding counties. Founded by Col. Richard E. Smith (USMC Ret.) in Falls Church, Virginia, MANNA Realty was established to provide full-service real estate brokerage to individuals and small business owners. MANNA Realty's fundamental guiding principle was "MANNA means more...more service, more integrity and more results." This founding creed is just as important and a key principle to how today's MANNA Real Estate conducts business as it was in the beginning.

In the early 1970's, MANNA Builders was established to develop and build single-family and multi-family residential properties as well as smaller commercial projects. This development and construction arm of MANNA was successfully operated by Col. Richard E. Smith along with his associate Gen. Armstrong for nearly two decades before its operations were acquired and merged into a larger builder/developer. During those years, MANNA was directly involved in all aspects of the home-building process from site location to project management to marketing and sales. MANNA Builders was primarily responsible for the development and construction of each community or project, while MANNA Realty handled all brokerage matters and marketing/sales functions. The many projects successfully marketed and sold by MANNA Realty, on behalf of its builder division, lead to MANNA Realty expanding its services to include marketing/sales to other builders. Eventually this repositioning of MANNA Realty, through working with outside builders in addition to "in-house" projects, resulted in the spin-off of MANNA Builders. Several of the key individuals from its builder division joined MANNA Realty and continued to create and direct its new builder-oriented marketing and sales programs. This builder's marketing arm of MANNA Realty has since been integrated into the full-service brokerage platform that MANNA is now able to offer to all of its clients.

MANNA Real Estate Services, as it is now known, has been directly involved in the development and placement of millions of dollars in syndicated real estate investments in association with its former affiliate MANNA Financial Services Corp, a registered securities broker/dealer. MANNA Real Estate and its principals have been involved in the acquisition, conversion, rehabilitation, subdivision, and development of area properties having current value in excess of $1 billion.

In 1992, the current principal owners of MANNA Real Estate took control of the management of the real estate brokerage operations and soon thereafter acquired the business from Col. Smith. Col. Smith still acts as an advisor to MANNA Real Estate and is the Chairman Emeritus of the Board for MANNA Realty. As MANNA expanded the number of services offered to its clients, the company was incorporated into MANNA Real Estate Services, Inc. which more accurately reflected the scope of services offer by MANNA Real Estate and its affiliated companies.

Today, MANNA Real Estate Services operates its metropolitan offices out of McLean, Virginia with a satellite office in Gaithersburg, Maryland and its Country Homes and Land office out of Linden, Virginia.
